I had the same feeling as LeahLovesNature - this single frame/piece here is so potent and full of ideas. I could easily make a whole book based on this alone, and I could see a fascinating movie/anime based on it. And I love the contrast of colours, as well - the wet, cold, gray look of the street scene versus the warmer, brighter greens and blues of the scene below. You can see that contrast as well in the way the light below illuminates the man and adds a brightness and life to 'his world'. This here is the kind of thing that adventure games of the 90's and early 2000's were made of, and JRPGs (such as Stark and Arcadia, which had a similar feel- one world fantasy and magical, the other modern day and high tech, very cold and dry feeling, and the boundary between the two suddenly fading and the two combining rather like this scene- in the game "The Longest Journey" ).
You could do a fun story-writing contest with this, get writers here to write a story or a story-excerpt and then vote on your favourite ones Could definitely get some creative juices flowing!
I am a writer, but I tend to need inspiration to have the energy to write- and I don't mean idea inspiration, as I have tons of half-completed works, I mean, energy to really do it. And this makes me -want- to write! Thank you!
I'm so glad I was able to inspire someone! Thank you for the kind words! I'm a huge fan of writing and story-telling and have been trying to gear my work towards the narrative side of things recently. A contest sounds like it would be a lot of fun!
